Shropshire · small-batch apiary

Honey with a clear sense of place.

Zunarethivessia follows the hive through the British seasons, producing natural honey and practical bee products in limited batches. Our focus is simple: attentive beekeeping, careful handling and enough information for you to understand what is in every jar or box.

About the apiary

Beekeeping shaped by observation, not shortcuts.

Zunarethivessia is built around the ordinary but demanding work of keeping colonies settled, well supplied and responsive to the changing Shropshire season. Spring inspections, swarm awareness, summer forage, careful super management and autumn preparation all influence what can responsibly be taken from a hive.

That approach means our honey is intentionally seasonal. A batch may lean floral, mellow, bright or deeper in colour depending on what the bees have worked. We do not treat those differences as defects; they are part of the connection between a hive, its landscape and a particular point in the year.

Alongside honey, we make practical use of beeswax and offer selected hive products and gift assortments. Each item is presented with straightforward information about what it is, how it was prepared and the best way to store or use it.

What people value

Feedback tends to centre on the details: distinct seasonal flavour, the natural appearance of beeswax, careful packaging and being able to ask a real person how a product was prepared.

The spring honey had a noticeably different character from the later jar, which made the seasonal explanation genuinely useful.

Questions

A practical guide before you enquire.

Availability changes through the year, so these answers explain how we handle seasonal honey, wax products, collection, gift requests and apiary visits.

What kinds of honey do you offer?
Our honey is sold by harvest or season rather than being forced into a permanent flavour range. The dominant forage can vary across spring and summer, so colour, aroma and crystallisation may differ naturally from one batch to another.
Why can natural honey crystallise?
Crystallisation is a normal physical change in many honeys. The speed and texture depend on the natural balance of sugars, temperature and the floral sources in a particular harvest. It does not mean the honey is spoiled.
What beeswax products are available?
Depending on the wax available after the beekeeping season, we may offer candles, filtered wax blocks and small craft pieces. Because the material comes from real hive work, quantities are limited and can change.
Can you prepare gift sets?
Yes. Gift sets can combine currently available honey, beeswax items and selected hive products. Tell us the occasion, approximate budget and preferred presentation, and we will explain what can be assembled from current stock.
Do you offer apiary visits or beekeeping guidance?
Visits and practical conversations are arranged individually and depend on weather, hive conditions and workload. They are designed around responsible observation of the apiary rather than guaranteed access to open colonies on a fixed date.

From comb to jar

Good honey begins before extraction day.

Hive management, forage, weather and colony strength all matter long before a frame reaches the honey room. We keep that wider story visible because the final jar is only one part of the beekeeping year.

Looking for a current batch or a thoughtful hive-product gift?

Tell us what you are looking for and when you need it. We will reply with current availability rather than showing products that may no longer be in season.

Ways to use hive products

Simple, everyday uses with no exaggerated claims.

Kitchen

Use honey in baking, dressings, breakfast dishes or as a finishing ingredient where its seasonal flavour can remain noticeable.

Home atmosphere

Beeswax candles bring a warm natural tone and understated hive character to tables, shelves and seasonal displays.

Gifting

Combine complementary jars and wax items into compact gifts that feel specific to the season rather than mass produced.

Craft

Filtered wax blocks can suit selected craft and finishing projects where natural beeswax is an appropriate material.

How we work

The craft is a sequence, not a single harvest.

01

Observe

Regular inspections focus on colony condition, space, forage and the signs that guide the next practical decision.

02

Harvest selectively

Honey is considered only when the colony has suitable stores and the frames are ready for careful removal.

03

Prepare in small batches

Extraction, filtering and filling are kept straightforward so each seasonal batch retains its own visible character.

04

Use the rest responsibly

Beeswax and other suitable hive materials are cleaned, sorted and directed into practical products rather than treated as waste.
